Typically, hearing the southbound train - which is backing from Essex - is my cue to get to the crossing to see the northbound run. But today, I was able to get videos of both the southbound and northbound Saybrook Specials - enjoy!

On the Valley Line This Morning - 8/6/2016
During the first weekend of each summer month, the Valley Railroad (aka Essex Steam Train) runs south from Essex to the north end of the wye in Old Saybrook (end of VRR track). Since I live near the tracks, I get to see the train go practically through my backyard.
Typically, hearing the southbound train - which is backing from Essex - is my cue to get to the crossing to see the northbound run. But today, I was able to get videos of both the southbound and northbound Saybrook Specials - enjoy!
