NCE Internal Antenna Modification

In a Throwback Thursday from a couple months ago, I mentioned my first meeting with Tony Koester and the good-natured ribbing I took for still having a long, whippy antenna on my NCE wireless ProCab.
Yes, it still looks like 2003 this

Well, I'm finally ready to (try and) get rid of the antenna if possible and would like to know how best to go about it.

I found the following article, and thought I'd give it a try:

Have any of you done this modification before? Any success/failure stories to share?

  1. Hey Chris,
Thanks for the great article on how to upgrade the throttles and replace those $#$%% antennas that seemed to break everytime I picked one up. I followed your article and fixed three of the Procabs. They all seem to work pretty well with the repairs. Thanks again for sharing.

    1. Hey Neil! Great to hear from you and psyched that you found the article helpful. I don't know if you saw this post (http://www.thevalleylocal.net/modeling/projects/nce-internal-antenna-modification) which provides more details - which sounds too late for your ProCabs, but if you have any Cab04 throttles it'd be helpful. Thanks for stopping by! Let me know when you wanna come down to visit the Valley Line! -Chris
