Worded Wednesday #248: 50 Years Ago Yesterday - and Today!

12:00 am, January 1, 1969
After 96 years, 5 months, and 8 days, the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad ceases to exist, being merged into the ill-fated Penn Central Railroad.

10:15 pm, January 2, 1969
Forty-six hours & fifteen minutes later, a future fan of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad (especially its Connecticut Valley Line) is born.
