Friday Fun - Hartford Freight Train

Not on the Valley Line, but near it - in Hartford, CT. Connecticut Southern freight train northbound past the Legislative Office Building parking garage, heading up the Hartford viaduct through the station. Not sure what those funny rack cars are - never saw them before.

    I believe those rack cars are for laying/transporting continuous rail.

    I see these cars around the Harrisburg PA (Steelton) area often loaded with long lengths of welded Rail.

    Looks like the consensus is that those cars are welded rail cars - sure seems like that to me. Thanks Chris, Joe, and John for weighing in!
