I remember Max Miller at the Valley Railroad telling me many years ago that the original station in Wethersfield had the "W" style roof akin to the Essex Passenger Station, not the Essex Freight house which remains today as the VRR's Passenger Station. The tangent track, the pole line on the east side of the track, the homes and garage in the background (Seen on Sanborn Fire Maps) all fits.R. Definitely not Essex (wrong topography & track arrangement, freight house would be in foreground), but definitely could be the original Wethersfield station, which burned in 1896 and was never replaced (the freight house, which would be behind/north of the station, would be used for passengers until that service ended in the early 1930s - last passenger station open on the line). Thanks for the reminder to check out TCS - I've been in correspondence with BobB and will let you know if we find out anything!Chris Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18052818057825432279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5376057412116187041.post-79173173710738216032022-06-25T13:49:40.773-07:002022-06-25T13:49:40.773-07:00I do not believe this is Cromwell, Deep River, Uni...I do not believe this is Cromwell, Deep River, Union City or Melrose based on track arrangement, freight platforms, etc of those stations.

Could it be Essex1 per Bob B’s TYLER city Station, here: http://www.tylercitystation.info/stations-e.html. Can’t tell if that’s a freight house behind your unknown photo or not.

Another possibility is Wethersfield…maybe. Also see TCS for photos. Eric Vnoreply@blogger.com
