But thank you for answering so quickly! It will be very interesting to see what these locations look like when you are done " back-dating" them.Artist794https://www.blogger.com/profile/07346967766524561563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5376057412116187041.post-4730447046597274712019-07-01T10:18:01.007-07:002019-07-01T10:18:01.007-07:00Thanks for the compliment! Or at least that's the intent :) See this photo for comparison:

But your comment made me realize that I haven't really done ANY sort of comprehensive post about Essex (or Deep River or East Haddam for that matter). And it's not even part of the Layout Tour on my website! Must fix that ASAP.

As for the transfer siding, as far as I can determine, it ended south of Tate's Cut and well below mainline grade. The switch was at the north end of the freight house. Check out this photo: .

Hope this helps - and let me know if you're not able to able to access these links. In the photos of your version of SX yard tracks 5,1,6,8 seem to match present day track plan. but what should be track 7 and 9 look a bit different. Is this because of space limitations or is it more accurate to the era modeled? Obviously the shop and LSF were not there but the switch seems to be further north than present day. Also for your DR set, where is the Transfer siding in relation to Tate's Cut? obviously today that siding is not present and I'm curious where it would fall in orientation to the river and the rock cut. Regardless amazing job the more I see your post the more I am motivated to work on my model of 3025.Artist794https://www.blogger.com/profile/07346967766524561563noreply@blogger.com
